What InterviewReady Does
InterviewReady is an interview practice tool. You provide a job description and optionally a resume, and the app generates tailored interview questions and evaluates your answers using AI.
Data We Collect
- Account info — If you sign in with Google or a magic link, we receive your email address and display name from your authentication provider.
- Job descriptions — Text you paste or URLs you provide. When you provide a URL, we fetch and parse its content on your behalf.
- Resume text — If you paste resume text for question personalization.
- Interview answers — Your responses to practice questions.
- Voice recordings — If you use voice input, audio is captured temporarily for transcription and is not stored afterward.
- Usage data — API call counts for rate limiting and quota enforcement.
Guest users can use the app without an account. Guest sessions are identified by a randomly generated ID stored in a browser cookie. When the guest cookie expires (after 24 hours), the associated data remains in the database but is no longer accessible. Guest data is not automatically deleted.
How We Use Your Data
- AI processing — Job descriptions, resumes, and answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate questions and evaluate answers. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training. Once processed, your data is not retained by Anthropic beyond their standard API data handling.
- Voice transcription — If you use voice input, audio is sent to Groq's Whisper API for transcription. Neither we nor Groq store the audio after transcription is complete.
- Progress tracking — Your session history, scores, and bookmarks are stored so you can track your improvement over time.
Data Storage and Retention
Your data is stored in a cloud-hosted database in the United States. All data is associated with your user account and protected by row-level security policies — other users cannot access your data.
We retain your data for as long as your account exists. Cached job descriptions are kept to speed up repeat use. Session data from deleted sessions may be retained for progress tracking. Usage logs are retained for rate limiting and are periodically cleaned up.
Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate InterviewReady. Your data is shared with these services only as needed to provide the features described above:
- Anthropic (Claude API) — AI question generation and answer evaluation
- Groq (Whisper API) — Voice-to-text transcription
- Supabase — Database and authentication
- Vercel — Hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring
- Google — OAuth sign-in (if you choose Google sign-in)
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with any parties beyond those listed above.
Deleting Your Data
Authenticated users can delete their interview sessions, saved questions, and progress data at any time from the Settingspage using "Reset All Progress." This does not delete your account, cached job descriptions, or any data previously sent to third-party APIs (Anthropic, Groq), as those services process data transiently and do not store it on our behalf.
Guest users cannot delete their data directly. To request deletion of guest data, contact us at the email below.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication sessions and guest mode. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated performance data (page load times, not personal information).
